Hurricane Irma has hit the Caribbean on September 6, 2017, with the eye of the category 5 storm, the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, passing over Dominican Republic as seen in Santo Domingo. The NHC predicted storm surges of up to 5 feet in the northern Dominican
Republic and rainfall of up to 15 inches in isolated spots. Hurricane
conditions are expected to begin on early September 7, 2017.
