Almost half million of people marched through the streets of Spanish capital Madrid on October 15, 2011, against government cutbacks to health and education spending, unemployment and corporate greed as part of a global day of protest.

Five columns of marchers converged on Cibeles Square after walking from different points across the city.

Assemblies scheduled to last throughout the night in Sol Square .

The "May 15 Movement" #15M started five months ago to the day over austerity measures and high unemployment. Spain's protest has gone global and the world has joined the movement started in Sol Square.
