Paris: IMF targeted in letter bomb attack

One person has been injured by a letter bomb at the International
Monetary Fund’s office in Paris, on March 16, 2017 according to French police, who said
the explosive resembled a “giant firecracker”. A secretary who opened the letter on Thursday was hit by shrapnel in the
face and suffered an injured eardrum, said Paris police chief Michel
Cadot. The IMF letter bomb came a day after an explosive package was found at the offices of Germany’s finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble. The Berlin police said the package contained an “explosive mix” that was designed to cause “severe injuries”.
