Thailand: Loy Krathong festival celebrated quietly in wake of king's death

News Bangkok, Thailand - 14 November 2016

People are seen sending baskets holding flowers and candles into the water as a way to commemorate the annual festival Loy Krathong on November 14, 2016 in Bangkok. The participants made and decorate the baskets themselves. The event was acknowledged quietly, with no musical performances or other entertainment, as all celebrations have been cancelled since King Bhumibol Adulyadej died in mid-October.
