Montreal: Justin Trudeau and Irish Taoiseach attend Pride Parade

Life Montreal, Canada - 20 August 2017

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau walks in Montreal's 2017 Pride Parade along with Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on August 20, 2017. This is the first time a foreign head of government walks with a Canadian prime minister in a Canadian Pride parade. Varadkar took office in June and is Ireland's first openly gay prime minister. He was on an official visit to Canada for three days. Tens of thousands of other people also marched in the streets, along with Montreal's Mayor Denis Coderre and Quebec's Prime Minister Philippe Couillard.
