José Aldo and Vitor Belfort attend press meet for UFC 142 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Jose Aldo, the UFC Featherweight champion was at a press meet on December 13, 2011, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a month before his 14th Jan championship defending fight against Chad Mendes.

Vitor Belfort was also at hand and he will be fighting Anthony Johnson early next year.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (also known as UFC) is at present one of the biggest sports events in the world, it began in 1992 ( The events are held approximately every 15 days.

Each event has a number, at present the next event will be in Rio on Jan. 14, 2012.  It will be the 142nd edition, that is why it is known as UFC 142 or UFC Rio II (its the second time that the event is held in Rio).

In every event there are more than one contest. In the case of UFC 142 there will be 10 fights in the same night, one after the other.

The main fight is Jose Aldo vs Chad Mendes, before this fight Vitor Belfort  will contest against Anthony Johnson, these two are middleweights. Fighters from several weight divisions and the whole event lasts about 3 hours."
