[Video] Istanbul: Pride celebrations continue despite crackdown

Entertainment , Turkey - 28 June 2015

Pride celebrations continued in Istanbul, Turkey on June 28, 2015, hours after security forces resorted to water cannons and tear gas to disperse a crowd of at least 200 people attending the 13th annual gay parade in Taksim Square.

The local authority prevented the rally from taking place in the city's central square because it coincided with the Islamic month of Ramadan, according to organizers.

A local news agency has reported that two people were hurt, but the details of their injuries are not yet known.
