The 65th British Academy Film Awards were held on February 12, 2012 at the Royal Opera House in London.

Stephen Fry returned to host the awards ceremony. He previously hosted from 2001 to 2006.

The Artist won seven awards, out of its twelve nominations, including Best Director and Best Film. Jean Dujardin and Meryl Streep received awards for Best Actor and Best Actress. Octavia Spencer and Christopher Plummer won the Best Supporting awards. The movie Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was named Best British Film.

The "British Academy Film Awards" is an annual ceremony organized by the "British Academy of Film and Television Arts" (BAFTA). It delivers a price, which is often cited as the British equivalent of the Oscars in the United States.

The ceremony which was established in 1947, takes place in February at the Royal Opera House since 2007. It is open to all categories and all nationalities.
