French presidential election 2012

Politics France - January 1st 2011

The first round for the French presidential election will take place April 22, 2012. The second round, which will feature the top two candidates from the first round, will take place May 6, 2012. The current candidates are:

Nathalie Arthaud- Lutte ouvrière [French Workers’ Struggle]
François Bayrou- Mouvement Démocratique [Democratic Movement]
Jacques Cheminade- Solidarité et Progrès [Solidarity and Progress]
Nicolas Dupont-Aignan- Debout la République [Stand up, Republic]
François Hollande- Parti socialiste [Socialist Party]
Eva Joly- Europe Ecologie- Les Verts [Green Party]
Marine Le Pen- Front National [National Front]
Jean-Luc Mélenchon- Front de gauche [Left Party]
