Protests in Moldova

Hot Topics Moldova - April 4th 2009

After the election of communist party at the legislative sunday April 5th, thousands of anti-communists protested in Chisinau, the Moldovian capital, on monday 6th and tuesday 7th.

The parliament was vandalized by the protesters who object the result of the vote.

President Vladimir Voronine thinks that their behavior is close to "fascism". He also thinks that Romania has partly organised what he is considering as a takeover.

Romanian ambassador in Chisinau was sent back and Moldovian ambassador in Bucarest recalled.
