Exhibitioners sell their wares in Abhay Prashala, a place provided for the air conditioning exhibition in Indore, India, on April 20, 2012.
In Indore, there are three distinct seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. The daytime temperatures during summer can reach 40 degrees Celsius, but with low humidity. Winters can get as cold as 4 degrees Celsius during the night, but normally the temperature stays around 30 degrees Celsius in the winter. Currently, the mercury has reached its peak at 45 degrees Celsius, supposedly the highest recorded temperature. To top it off, humidity increased to a level of 22 percent. This resulted in breathing issues for asthmatics.
Luckily, cooling companies such as Panasonic, Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Crompton Graves, Voltas and Fedders Lloyd have been able to make these people’s lives more pleasant by providing air conditioners to the people of Indore. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) encouraged these corporate cooling giants to come together and demonstrate their product range. The CII wants people to take advantage of the products within their budget.
