An unusual flying object came to New York from Washington on Friday April 27, 2012.

The space shuttle Enterprise is being permanently retired from service and "parked" at The Entrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. Enterprise arrived for the once-in-a-lifetime flyover in regal fashion from the South, over the Verrazano Bridge on the Hudson River.

"I took these images during the historic last flight of the Space Shuttle Enterprise on the back of the NASA Shuttle Carrier Aircraft", wrote our contributor. "It was an incredible sight from the beginning, the crowd in the park whispering "there it is - there it is," like a celebrity had just entered the room."
