Bangladesh Shahbagh movement wants to keep protest alive

Politics Dhaka, Bangladesh - 15 February 2013

A mass-awakening rally was held on February 15, 2013 at Shahbagh, in Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh. Protesters announced new timeline to continue their sit-in demonstration at the venue, now known as Prajanma Chattar, demanding capital punishment for Abdul Quader Molla and other war criminals.

Abdul Quader Molla is known in Bangladesh as the "Mirpurer Koshai" ("the butcher of Mirpur") for the atrocities (murders and rapes) he committed against citizens in the Mirpur area of Dhaka during the Liberation war of Bangladesh against Pakistani troops.
