Bangladesh: Protest held against the killing of Rohingya muslims in Myanmar

World News Dhaka, Bangladesh - 15 June 2012

Different Islamic organizations and thousands of people conducted a procession in Dhaka, the Capital of Bangladesh, on June 15, 2012, protesting against the killing of Rohingya muslims in Myanmar.

Hundreds of Muslims fleeing sectarian violence in Myanmar tried to enter Bangladesh, but many were turned away. Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said they were not willing to give shelter to Rohingya refugees, despite international calls for opening the border to people fleeing the clashes between Muslims and Buddhists in western Myanmar.
