The Corpus Christi procession took place this afternoon in downtown Rio de Janeiro, starting at the Candelaria Church and then followed its way to the Metropolitan Cathedral, at Av. Chile.
Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Dom Orani Tempesta, chaired the Solemnity of Corpus Christi Masses, attended by the Auxiliary Bishops, and other members of the clergy, deacons and seminarians, in both churches.
At Chile Avenue, Dom Orani walked on carpets of salt made by various pastoral and movements of the Archdiocese.
The heavy rain that fell on the Rio de Janeiro on the afternoon of Thursday, June 7, wasn't able to drive away the faithful who came to the streets of downtown Rio.
