A man has been arrested after threatning to detonate a bomb in London's busy Tottenham Court Road this April 27, 2012. The man believed to be in his late 40's caused commotion when office furniture was thrown from an office above street level onto the busy street, then taking hostages and threatening to detonate a bomb.

It was thought the man had gas cannisters with him, but police officers decided to evacuate the entire section of the long, busy technology highstreet of Central London forcing businesses to close for public safety.

Police lines were later further receded to the north section of Euston Rd and snipers were called onto the rooftops of Tottenham Court Road. At this time, no further information about the incident has been released.
