English fans gather in London to watch England compete against Italy in Euro 2012

English fans watched Euro 2012's quarter final game between England and Italy in Woolwich, South East London on June 24, 2012. Italy won the match in a penalty shootout. The final score was 4-2, after the game ended with a 0-0 tie.

Italian forward Alessandro Diamanti scored the winning goal in the match.

The BBC organized the big-screen showing, which took place in General Gordon Square. The BigScreens@LiveSites brings European sports events to viewers for free. 

Italy will face Germany in the Euro 2012 semi-finals on Thursday, June 28 in Warsaw, Poland. Germany beat Greece on June 22, with a final score of 4-2. 

Spain and Portugal will also play each other in the semi-finals on Wednesday, June 27 in Donetsk, Ukraine. Spain beat France on Saturday, June 23, with a final score of 2-0, while Portugal beat the Czech Republic on June 21, with a final score of 1-0.
