Sports Bucharest, România - 24 May 2012

The Bucharest Streetball Weekend tournament began May 24, 2012 and is scheduled to last until May 27.

The tournament, organized by the Romanian Federation of Basketball, Student Sports and FIBA Europe, will feature competitions for several age groups, which include the Baby Tournament for children between the ages of eight and 12, a High School Tournament for juniors between the ages of 12 and 18, the Final Tournament of the National University 3on3 Basketball Championship for university students, and the Open Tournament for adults.

The National University 3on3 Tournament will be of particular interest, since it features the two best university-level  basketball teams for both men and women in Romania.

Our contrbutor writes that "for four days...competitors will have the opportunity to play basketball and have fun with [famous athletes]and local celebrities. All activities will be [take place] in the Revolution Square."

Over 500 sports fans are expected to attend.
