The Amgen Tour (cycling) of California ended on May 20, 2012 in Los Angeles, California, after an 8 day race.


"The Amgen Tour of California bicycle race ended yesterday in Los Angeles after 8 days of racing," our contributor wrote. "The final stage started on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and cruised the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Blvd before finishing at the Staples Center right as an National Hockey League playoff game began.  The final stage was won by Peter Sagan , Liquigas-Cannondale, over Tom Boonen and Gerald Ciolek, both of Omega Pharma QuickStep.  Sagan won 5 of 8 stages and the sprint jersey.  Best Young rider was won by Wilco Kelderman of Rabobank Cycling Team.  The overall champion was Robert Gesink of Rabobank Cycling Team, after his dramtic victory at the queen stage that finished on top of Mt Baldy.  David Zabriskie of Garmin Barracuda finished second overall, and 3rd overall was Tom Danielson, also of Garmin-Barracuda."
