President Obama spoke about his plans to create jobs, expand opportunity, and ensure that the economy is "built to last". He also spoke of the big decisions that will be made over the next few years – on jobs and the economy, taxes, deficits, energy, education, war and peace.
Colorado is considered a "swing" state – one in which neither the Democratic nor the Republican Party has a large advantage – so a win here is crucial for both sides. Golden is the County Seat of Jefferson County, which is considered one of the two "swing" counties within the state.
