Assange addresses his supporters at the Ecuador Embassy in London

Politics London, Great Britain - 19 August 2012

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange made a statement to supporters on August 19, 2012 from the Ecuadorian embassy where he has taken refuge for the last two months and a week after being granted asylum by Ecuador. Assange has been under house arrest for the last 622 days.

The Australian is the subject of an international tug-of-war, with Swedish prosecutors seeking to question him about alleged sexual misconduct and Britain refusing to let him travel to Ecuador where he has been granted asylum.
