Celebration of International Day of the World's Indigenous People in Bangladesh

Politics Dhaka, Bangladesh - 09 August 2012

Huge number of Indigenous People attended the International Day of the World's Indigenous People celebrations in Dhaka August 9, 2012. This program is organized by Bangladesh Indigenous People Forum. The Bangladesh government directed all district administrations to not cooperate in celebrations of the indigenous day and claimed to the effect that there were no indigenous people in the country, a letter issued by the Local Government and Rural Development ministry on March 11, 2012.
