French President François Hollande left 10 Downing Street, after a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron in London on July 10, 2012.
Hollande's one-day trip was his first official visit to Britain as French President. According to an article in The Telegraph, Hollande and Cameron discussed taxation, the current eurozone crisis and foreign policy.
France's recent proposal to increase taxation on foreign-owned second residences has caused a rift with Great Britain. An estimated 200,000 British home-owners would be affected.
Cameron has also recently urged members of the eurozone to work to resolve the economic crisis. While Great Britain is not included in the eurozone, the crisis has nevertheless impacted the British economy.
The two leaders agreed that in spite of differing views regarding Syria, both would try to pressure Russia and China to take a stronger stance against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
In addition to meeting with Cameron, Hollande also visited Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle.
