Conflict erupts during the first Thessaloniki Pride Festival in Greece

Religious organizations protest against the first Thessaloniki Pride Festival with clashes with riot police on Saturday June 23, 2012.

The parade was held in the presence of strong police forces, and at one time there was little tension and conflict, when a group of people who had gathered, fired eggs and shouted slogans expressing their opposition to the organization of the gay pride festival.
