Hundreds of protesters marched at the heart of Paris' Latin Quarter, to support the "Marche Européenne des sans papiers," a march designed to bring attention to the rights of illegal immigrants, on June 20, 2012. Individuals gathered to the soundtrack of drumbeats, in a frustrated yet light-hearted environment.
The "Coalition Internationale des Sans-Papiers et Migrants," an organization advocating for immigrant rights, organized the march, which began June 2 and will end July 2, 2012. The coalition asked that European associations mobilize to assert the rights of both legal and illegal immigrants.
Participants will finish the march in Stasbourg, a central hub for European institutions.
