Rally for Mexican presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Guadalajara

News Guadalajara, Mexico - 20 May 2012

Supporters of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, a candidate for Mexico's upcoming election, rallied in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico on May 20, 2012.

Obrador is the candidate from the Party of the Democratic Revolution (Partido de la Revolución Democrática). He is also the former mayor of Mexico City. The Mexican presidential elections will be held on July 1, 2012. There are four presidential candidates. Obrador ran for president before, but did not win, although he and his supporters claimed that the past presidential elections have been fraudulent.

Obrador has promised protection and change to a Mexico that's been shaken by the drug war. Students have rallied around him, and he has been working on raising support not only in Mexico but throughout the world.
