Various Occupy Wall Street marches converged on Times Square early evening on Saturday October 15, 2011. Police and protesters were in a tense stand off as each side tried to push back the other. At one point police horses were used in an attempt to push back the crowd but were not successful. Eventually one white-shirted officer offered to let the crowd cross into Times Square. The police formed a wall to stop traffic and let the protestors safely join the center of Times Square.
