One of the most artsy streets in Budapest has a link to Peter Falk, the television star who played the rumpled detective Colombo in the hit American series of the 1970s. Miksa Falk, the actor’s great-grandfather, was a 19th century politician, journalist and academic who was the Hungarian language teacher for the Austrian-Hungarian Empress Elisabath of Bavaria (also known as “Sissi”).
Today the small street on the Pest side of the Hungarian metropolis is home to dozens of antique shops and art galleries.
