Somalia: 'Gunfire' in hotel as blasts hit Mogadishu

Two car bombs have exploded outside of a hotel in Mogadishu and gunfire has been heard inside, according to Somali police on October 28, 2017. At least two people have been killed and eight wounded when the first car bomb detonated near the gates of a hotel close to the capital city's presidential palace. Police have confirmed local reports of a second car bomb explosion in the same area, with an unknown number of casualties reported. The hotel and local restaurant are reportedly being evacuated, with wounded people among the evacuees. The explosion follows just two weeks after more than 350 people were killed in a truck bombing in the city, including 15 children.
