Thailand: People light candles and lay flowers outside Grand Palace

News Bangkok, Thailand - 16 October 2016

People pray, light candles and lay down flowers and photos outside of the Grand Palace after it closes to pay their respects to their departed king on October 16, 2016 in Bangkok. King Bhumibol Adyuladej died on October 13, 2016 at age 88, leaving Thailand in a state of mourning. The Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has announced that there will be no celebrations for 30 days. The Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will become the new king once he is done grieving for his father. the Emerald Buddha temple inside the Grand Palace to offer their prayers for the departed soul of their Beloved King.
