Istanbul: Peoples' Democratic Party march against president ErdoğanNews İstanbul, Turkey - 06 June 2015
Members of the left-wing Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have marched through the streets of Istanbul on June 5, 2015 as part of a campaign to prevent the re-election of Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
HDP members are rallying against Erdoğan and his attempts to increase his own presidential executive powers.
The march was also in response to a bombing attack on a HDP rally in Amed/Diyarbakir which left four dead and and at least ten injured.
Many believe the bombing was an assassination attempt on party leader Selahattin Demirtaş.
Despite forming in 2012 this will be the first time HDP will officially run in a general election.
