Perth: Unionists protest anticipated workplace relations reformsNews Perth, Australia - 04 March 2015
A crowd of union members and supporters spoke out against the Abbott government's workplace relations agenda at Parliament House in Perth on March 4, 2015.
The protest was part of a nationwide day of action, held in response to the government's request for an inquiry into Australia's workplace relations framework from the Productivity Commission.
Unions fear that the government could push for unfair working conditions after it receives the inquiry, due to be delivered in November 2015.
Protesters criticised funding cuts to public services and privatisation, while United Voice WA secretary Carolyn Smith and other union members called for protection of weekend and public holiday rates for workers.
