Istanbul: Riot police clash with anti-Erdogan demonstrators

News Istanbul, Turkey - 28 August 2014

Turkish riot police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse leftist protesters demonstrating against the swearing in of former Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan as the country's president in Istanbul, Turkey on August 28, 2014.

The group of around 200 protesters gathered in the tourist district of Taksim, where they chanted slogans against Erdogan and carried anti-corruption posters.
