Cameron and Putin talk about Syria, then head to judo in London

News London, United Kingdom - 02 August 2012

Prime Minister David Cameron met Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 2, 2012 at 10 Downing Street in London to talk about the situation in Syria.

Cameron is trying to convince Putin over Russia’s refusal to agree on a new UN resolution that tries to halt the violence in Syria between Assad’s regime and anti-government rebels. Britain called the decision by Russia and China to veto a resolution two weeks ago “inexcusable and indefensible.”

Later they headed together to the London Olympics to see judo matches contests at the ExCel Centre in east London. He is an honorary president of the International Judo Federation and it's the Russian leader’s favorite sport.
