People protest over Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day in Denver, Colorado

News Denver, United States - 01 August 2012

Supporters organised a demonstration Wednesday, August 1, 2012 to express their opinion about the chicken restaurant policy regarding same sex marriage.

A group of protesters rallyed on the 16th Street Mall in Denver, on August 1, 2012, steps away from the Chick-fil-A at Republic Plaza.

A month ago, Dan Cathy, the president of the food chain, declared publicly his support to the biblical definition of marriage. The company has been since caught in the middle of a free speech and gay rights debate.

On the exact same day, supporters of the company flooded the fast-food chain's locations in what was called "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."

Manager at the Chick-fil-A at the Republic Plaza food court Brian Thompson, declared he has doubled his sales and closed earlier because the staff could not serve any more chicken.
