Clashes between military police and protesters near Egypt's Defence Ministry

News Cairo, Egypt - 04 May 2012

The sit-in around the Ministry of Defence was attacked almost every night by thugs over the past week. On May 4, 2012 thousands of protesters marched in objection to the bloodshed. Clashes broke out hours later between protesters and military police along with central security forces.

Molotov cocktails, stones, teargas, blackjack sticks and even live ammo. It was literally a war. At least two were killed, hundreds injured, and more than 400 arrested by the army.

Later on the same day, SCAF announced that curfew will be imposed from 11pm around the Interior Ministry area.
