The activists of the Vedike assembled in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and held a sit-in shouting slogans against westernization of culture. It is learnt that they have planned to stage a protest condemning the police action against the Vedike-led miscreants, who on Saturday evening barged into a private home-stay and attacked revellers. The protestors justified the attack on the girls and boys at the homestay, saying it was to "protect culture". They also condemned the police for not taking action against the boys and girls who were involved in partying. In spite of warnings from the police, the group continued their protest, following which, they were taken into custody by the police.
