"In Port-au-Prince everybody is sleeping in the streets" : a testimony from HaitiHot Topics Not vetted story Vetted story Port-au-Prince, Haiti - 13 January 2010
The life after the earthquake is awful there. People are running in the streets and they look distraught. Everybody is sleeping in the streets.
The problem is the food : we are hungry. We manage to find water, but it's difficult.
During the night, I don't dare to go out. Prisonners who took advantage of the earthquake to escape are free now. Thus, we try to organize squads to protect our area.
I consider myself "lucky" because none of my family and neither I had been injured by the earthquake.
I was working when the seism appened and the building resisted well.
Today, everybody is waiting for the international aid".
