Taru Martani was first built in the Bulu area, but in 1921 it relocated to its current location west of the Yogyakiarta Mandala Krida Stadium. For awhile, the factory's name was changed to Java Tobacco Kojo, but after the Japanese occupation ended, its name returned to the original. Today, the Taru Martani factory employs some 270 people who still make the "Senator" and "Mundi Victor" cigars, just like back in 1918.
