England's Environment Agency issued severe flood warnings on July 7, 2012. 

According to an article on Agence France Presse, the agency warned that a month's amount of rain could fall within hours. The areas predicted to be the most affected were Yorkshire, the North East, the Midlands and East Anglia. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency also issued flood warnings for Tayside, Ayrshire and Arran.

"Rain drop is seen in the front glass of a Bus in London. A severe flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for part of south-west England, as river levels rise after heavy rain. Rain drop is seen in the front glass of a Bus in London."
