Environment Peshawar, Pakistan - 03 May 2012

In Peshawar, Pakistan, workers in charge of landscaping Peshawar University cut down old trees from the university's garden with hopes of preventing further problems on May 3, 2012.

Recently, in March 2012, around 160 trees were auctioned and then cut down for furniture use and because some had become too dry. At the time, Some 100 sheesham, popular, eucalyptus and mulberry trees were found dead, a member of the auction committee said. Cutting down the dead trees will also keep students and faculty safer, as several dead trees fell of their own accord this spring.
