The Surabaya Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Indonesia was an Eco Hotel certified by TÜV Rheinland Indonesia on April 5, 2012. The hotel has applied their eco-hotel and resort management system which helps them stay green in areas like purchasing hazardous substances, water and waste management, energy management and safety.
The member hotel of Starwood also participated in the WWF sponsored Earth Hour on March 31, 2012. During the Earth Hour, Surabaya Sheraton Hotel and Towers participated by turning off their lights.
