Bucharest residents travel back in time for Interwar Ball

Entertainment Bucharest, Romania - 24 May 2012

The third annual Bucharest Interwar Ball took place on May 24, 2012, in the Byzantine and Gothic Room Hall, located in the National Military Circle.

Our contributor writes:
"The Interwar Ball [is designed] to revive the spirit of [the] glorious period in which Bucharest [was] called [...] the "Little Paris," because of its cosmopolitan atmosphere. [One couple wore] costumes inspired from the retro '20s and '30s fashion [style].. Zavaidoc music and tango steps, foxtrot or charleston are part of the Interbellum Ball’s mark."

The program featured dances from the interwar period. Dancers from Step by Step, the local dance school, performed. The festivities included a lively dinner, a costume contest, and theater performances. The Bucharest Interwar Ball is part of a month-long celebration of the city's history and culture, designed to bring about awareness and pride among its residents.
