This is a set of the Red Shirt (United Front For Democracy Against Dictatorship) UDD rally at Ratchaprasong in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 19. 2011.

The Intersection and date marks the place and time one year before when the red shirts were dispersed by the Thai military after rallying around Bangkok for nearly three months asking for a just judicial system, equal rights under the law, reforms of the government, and the dissolution of parliament in what was seen as a silent coup against an elected government in 2007.

The aftermath of the bloody protests left nearly 91 people dead including foreign reporters, protesters, bystanders and members of the Thai army.

Here the Red Shirts made merit and prayed for the deceased, watched speeches and films in addition to perform lively and striking political theatre.
