Serbians celebrate Flower Carnival

Serbians celebrated the Flower Carnival in Bela Crkva on June 23, 2012. According to Serbia's website for national tourism, the carnival began June 18 and ended June 24. 

Our contributor writes:

"Tourist season in the White Church officially began holding 'CARNIVAL OF FLOWERS.'

Carnival of Flowers is [a] [traditional] event, which is held intermittently over 150 years. It involved local communities and the region of Banat, interested organizations and cultural societies, and the carnival parade in the country and abroad.
 
Carnival this year and for years, continued a long tradition of the White Church, the tradition that the Vojvodina town distinguished in the country and beyond."
