On Saturday June 9th, in the city of Bologna, known as the city "dotta","Bologna Pride" or better known as the Gay Pride parade took place. The parade in full solidarity had also a feeling of profound awareness of the catastrophic events which hit some of the Emilia Romagna regions recently. Therefore, the allegorical floats were not part of the festivity, but nonetheless, the event was very colorful filled with flowers, costumes and a lot of music thanks to the various musical bands which accompanied the beat of the paraders.
The parade started from Cassero in Piazza Saragozza historic headquarters for the last 25 years for the gay activists, and it ended in Piazza Maggiore where the various LGBT organizations spoke on human rights. The meyer of Bologna, Virginio Merola participated as well as Ivan Zamudio the father of Daniel, the twenty-four year old Chilean tortured and killed last March in Santiago by a neo-nazi group; and thanks to Amnesty International other leaders from various international LGBT groups were also present. Among the various activities, the following entertainers completed a peaceful, well organized event: L'AURA, Mario Venuti, Silvia Mezzanotte,Antonella Lo Coco (X-Factor), Jessica Mazzoli (X-Factor) all introduced by ex-member of the parliament Vladirmir Luxuria.
