Buffaloes buffaloed at buffalo race in Mangalore

Culture Mangalore, India - 04 December 2011

The Kadri Manjunatha annual buffalo race took place in Mangalore on December 4, 2011.

The traditional buffalo racing event, part of an old tradition from the South Western part of Karnataka, India, takes place in a watered up mud road to make it tougher for the competitors. The winner is the one who not only finishes first, but also creates the highest splashes.
