Random stars at the Toronto International Film Festival

Culture Toronto, Canada - 10 September 2011

The 36th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival 2011 runs from September 8 to September 18, 2011. The second-ranked film festival in the world (right after Cannes Film Festival) is considered to be one of the biggest gathering of Hollywood stars on the planet: Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Megan Fox and Madonna all came to promote their individual films.

Interesting to note too that Gerard Butler, Ryan Gosling, Jason Statham, Salma Hayek, Geoffrey Rush as well as Nicolas Cage, were seen in different gala showings at the Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto. Not to mention Keira Knightley, Shailene Woodley, Madeline Carroll came to woo the crowds.

The festival ends on September 18, 2011. The festival awards the People's Choice awards at the end. Notable winners over the years end up the dark horse or the winners at the Oscars Academy Awards: Slum Dog Millionaire, American Beauty, Couching Tiger and who will forget last year's winner The King's Speech which won the Oscar for Best Picture of the Year in 2011.
