Indiana honored its veterans of foreign wars in Indianapolis on Friday November 11, 2011, with a memorial service and parade. Hundreds of spectators lined the streets of downtown to cheer, salute and wave their flags as veterans, military vehicles, and high school bands marched by.
Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day until 1954, is a federal holiday and many people have the day off work or school.
