IVORY COAST - Fighting in Abidjan has intensified, with heavy gunfire heard across the city. After three days of combat, pro-Ouattara commanders insist the city will fall soon.

On April 3 French forces took control of the Abidjan airport to aid the evacuation of French civilians. The French military has announced that nearly 300 soldiers were involved.
